This weekend I went to the British Style Collective based in Liverpool with my mum and OMG it did not disappoint!
So to fill you in this event is sponsored by the clothes show, and the event has had a total rebrand, which I think it really needed. I went to the clothes show a couple of times when it was based in Birmingham and as much as I love brum town, Liverpool absolutely nailed it!! I think it’s because of the whole vibe and atmosphere it created just being in the beautiful city of Liverpool. It was just amazing!
So the first part of the day was a visit to the shopping halls, where there were various fashion and beauty brands including Miss Pap, Lasula, Pixie and Elemis. There were also an expert stage which featured a summer style fashion talk by River Island Style Studio, a ‘Life after Love Island with Alex Bowen’ (he’s so beaut), and a talk with Jamie Laing about his sweet business ‘Candy Kittens’ from Made in Chelsea.
The halls were fab and not to crowded unlike the clothes show at Birmingham’s NEC. Just the whole vibe was amazing from the Bubble bar with its inflatable flamingos (yes to flamingos ??) and the bright pink bus by Oasis, which had cute little deck chairs in front to sit on. I also got a great goodie bag from Glamour magazine which was worth £100!! And it came with a free years subscription. How great is that?!
We then went over to the Albert Docks where they had a Vintage Market on and it was so lovely. This also added to the atmosphere as well as it being such a sunny day. Then after a stroll around the markets we headed on into the Echo Arena for the main catwalk show.
The show was presented by Kimberly Walsh and featured high street catwalks with break downs of the full outfits, which I thought was really good because I hate when I see something and then have to go and hunt around to figure out where it’s from. These outfit breakdowns were then available at the stores in the town centre at Liverpool One so you could head on over to shop them. Amazing right?!
Now to my favourite part of the day, the designer catwalks at St George’s Hall. This venue was insane! So spectacular and the perfect setting for high fashion designer catwalks, which was also presented by the fabulous Hilary Alexander. Some of the designs were absolutely insane and really were pieces of art. Then there were also elegant, contemporary, sport luxe and chic collections. Here’s some of my best pictures below of David Ferreria’s flamboyant collection.
Also at St George’s Hall were expert talks and interviews including a talk with insta blogger queen Sarah Ashcroft, who was talking summer fashion and how she got into Instagram. This was the only one I saw as it clashed with the catwalks which I really didn’t want to miss!
We had such a lovely but busy day and ended it with a well deserved big pizza and a vanilla cheesecake from Pizza Express. YUM!
The outfit I went for was an effortless dressy look wearing a silky print pyjama style blouse, a pair of raw edge white mom jeans finished off with some statement tassel earrings and a pink velvet mule. I also had some face glitter done which I absolutely loved and I didn’t want to wash it off. I actually considered sleeping on my one side so I wouldn’t ruin it and wanted to have it on for the next day but knowing my luck I would of woke up with a lovely rash or something ha.
Here’s some pics of my outfit and as always I’ll try and tag the website links for the pieces I’m wearing.
Thanks so much for reading guys and comments much appreciated :)!
