Welcome back guys sorry for the lack of posts recently I have had a busy schedule with holidays and weddings but I’m back with a new post about how to style up the check trend this autumn, as well as my favourite pieces on the high street RIGHT NOW!
I am so happy we are in the autumn season and I can fully start switching my wardrobe back over from summer and start getting my chunky knits back out. I am also excited to start buying new knitwear, some new boots and a couple of coats maybe? Like I don’t have enough already but hey ho you should know me by now ha!
So if you may of noticed CHECK is coming in thick and fast this autumn in a variety of styles. From blazers to footwear, its a trend that can be easily worked into your autumn/winter wardrobe and very easy to style. Heres how I’ve styled the trend…
I have been shopping around for some check trousers that are wide legged, have a paper bag high waist that are preferably not to long for a while now. I then came across Stradivarius which I didn’t even realise shipped in the UK. How blonde am I right? I cannot believe I have only just discovered this haha, so I will 110% be ordering from here again and from now on. They have some great high fashion pieces to at such good prices and I was really pleased with the quality of these trousers to!
For this look I’ve styled the trousers with a red fur effect slogan tee (also Stradivarius) tucked in to highlight the paper bag tie waist, layered with my patent black jacket (last year H&M) paired with some white leather ankle boots (mango), which I am so in love with by the way! To finish the look off I added my black captain/baker boy cap (H&M which hasn’t left my head ha), statement earrings (as always) and a faux fur light pink hand bag (next). That bag is my girly side right there ha!
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the white leather boots! I have been after some for agessss and I was just after the right ones with the right sort of heel that weren’t to high and not a kitten heel. I just can’t cope with them I’m so sorry if you love kitten heels…but I don’t ha! I feel the white boots add the statement edgy finish to the look and they really stand out against the check fabric. Coloured boots are going to be big this autumn winter so I feel these are going to be a staple! They also go lovely with my pink, furry, super soft and cuddly hand bag, which again fur accessories and coloured fur itself is going to be big this season.
I really like to experiment with my style and since I have started blogging and taking photos I have started to discover what styles of clothing suits my figure and shape. And as I am a bit top heavy a wide leg balances me out and a high waist tapers my figure in at the middle as my waist is very small. I also have felt more confident with poses and angles as I know what poses show my shape without me looking and feeling awkward all the time ha!
Also I do own a iron on these next pics ;). Its called sitting down on a train for 50 minutes sooo my bad guys lol.
Another trend that goes well with the check is this blogger-esque captain/baker boy hat which is a key accessory for this season. I wanted to style this look with a checkered hat that I brought from River Island, but unfortunately I have the tiniest head in the world and it only came in one size :(. So I went back to this trusty black one from H&M, which goes with everythingggg and I have literally been wearing it all the time. I have seen some leather ones floating about to which I might invest in as well as a checked one. They are just so good for those windy, breezy, rainy autumn days, as well as a bad hair day ha!
So yeah here is some more pictures of this check look I have styled up and keep scrolling to the bottom for this outfits direct shopping links as well as some of my top CHECK picks on the high street right now :)!
